Motivational speaker Jim Rohn once said, "Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment." This mindset applies to many aspects of life, especially regarding fitness.

The enthusiasm of starting something new is a little jet engine that propels us to get going. But at some point, it needs a little gas. Discipline adds that critical boost.
In yoga, this is usually defined as regular practice. Showing up to your chair or mat as often as possible is when you notice tangible results.
I'm a strong advocate for daily but short yoga sessions. Is a 15-minute stretch break as effective as a 50-minute session? Not quite, obviously. But your intention to be disciplined about consistently practicing trains your mind and body to accept this purposeful action as something important to you.
Then it becomes a habit and eventually, part of your standard routine. Soon, you're accomplishing more in your yoga practice than you ever thought possible, simply because of the discipline to make it so.
Medical News Today reported that "a 5-minute walk every 30 minutes could offset the effects of prolonged sitting." Other health organizations have also touted how short but frequent movement breaks improve our wellbeing.
You can do the same with yoga, too. Is it perfect? No. But it's practice. And that matters.
